Transplant Program Director

As a key member of the Dartmouth Health team, the Transplant Administrator will oversee the administrative, financial, regulatory, compliance, and marketing activities of the transplant services. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate fully with physicians, staff, and hospital departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the section and transplant program budgets.
- Assume responsibility for the oversight and management of the organ acquisition portion of the Medicare cost report.
- Manage contracts with payers, including updating and negotiating contracts, identifying new networks, and developing strategic relationships with key administrative leaders.
- Directly supervise all personnel within the section of Transplant Surgery, including hiring, daily supervision, and terminating when needed.
- Ensure that all personnel who care for transplant patients are oriented and receive ongoing education regarding policies and procedures.
- Manage the daily operations of the program, including developing, managing, and maintaining policies and procedures.
- Oversee the program's quality assurance/process improvement program, setting goals, collecting data, reviewing data, and making decisions regarding improvements.
- Report on quality and volumes data to regulatory agencies and insurance payers.
- Responsible for ongoing marketing activities of the section.
- Act as a representative of the Transplant Program, both within the organization and to outside agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related healthcare experience and a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in a transplant program management position.
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, or Health Administration preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, including ability to collaborate fully with physicians, staff, and hospital departments.
- Knowledge of the reporting, compliance, and financial nuances of transplant is beneficial.
