The Wilson County Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Student Services Coordinator. This position will be responsible for assisting the Deputy Director with the implementation of compliance programs, resolution of legal issues, creation of policy and procedure, and data and file maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree with Administrative endorsement or a Juris Doctorate with school and/or Civil Rights experience. They will also have working knowledge and experience dealing with student discipline laws and regulations in Tennessee, Title IX, Title VI, and other Civil Rights complaints and investigations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting investigations under Title IX, IV, VI, or other Civil Rights laws, assisting and conducting student discipline hearings as necessary, and regularly auditing Board procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk.

They will also work with local Law Enforcement when students have been criminally charged or adjudicated, aid in the development and review of Board of Education policies and procedures, and assist with administrative processes and procedures.

The Student Services Coordinator will also handle the process of all parent requests for educational records for a student, including student videos, amending educational records, student discipline appeals, and alternative school placement changes.

Additionally, they will resolve employee concerns about legal compliance and provide support to the Deputy Director in their duties.

This is a 260-day (12 months) assignment with insurance and retirement benefits. Salary will be determined by placement on the Miscellaneous Salaries Pay Scale.
