Job Summary

The Medical Director - Gynecologic Oncology will oversee and provide medical care to patients at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, adhering to the facility's policies and procedures. This role requires rotation of call coverage with other physicians and allied health professionals to ensure fair on-call time. The successful candidate will also spend time on administrative and record-keeping matters related to their medical practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and administrative services, participating in DHC's academic endeavors.
  • Abide by the Dartmouth Health Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct.
  • Review patient records and medical history.
  • Determine diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Order screening and diagnostic tests.
  • Obtain informed consent for procedures.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice.
  • Initiate referrals and admissions/discharge as necessary.
  • Provide consultation, education, and counseling on acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Complete documentation in a timely manner.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Supervise APPs as directed.
  • Participate in continuing medical education and quality initiatives.
  • Participate in academic responsibilities assigned by the Department Chair.

Qualifications
  • Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO).
  • Postgraduate training in a residency program.
  • Current New Hampshire Medical License.
  • Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification within 5 years.
  • Active hospital staff membership.
