CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior Technical Animator to enhance our team in Boston, contributing to Project Orion, the next installment in the Cyberpunk series. This role involves collaboration with leads, directors, animators, and engineering teams to advance our animation tools and workflows for characters, vehicles, and weapons.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement animation systems for characters, weapons, and vehicles.
- Collaborate with artists and engineers to develop optimized animation solutions.
- Independently tackle complex technical challenges.
- Document and define technical animation workflows, tools, and best practices.
- Oversee the animation pipeline to ensure efficiency.
- Prepare briefs for collaboration with external vendors and review their outputs.
- Engage with various teams to align on shared objectives.
- Assist directors and production in estimating and planning tasks.
- Guide and mentor fellow technical animators, artists, and animators, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to independently identify tasks and deliver results.
- A minimum of 8 years in a Technical Animator role.
- Expertise in rigging using Maya and MotionBuilder.
- In-depth knowledge of UE5/Blueprint.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your skills and experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in character deformation and physics.
- Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork abilities.
- A constructive attitude towards feedback and knowledge sharing.
- Ability to provide and receive feedback in a constructive manner.
- A genuine passion for gaming.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with motion matching techniques.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or LUA.
- Background in first-person AAA game development.
