We are seeking an experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to join our Insourcing Solutions team in Boston, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write and participate in the implementation and training of SOPs, overseeing adherence to these SOPs.
  • Onboard and train veterinary technicians in areas such as animal assessments, basic techniques, and equipment monitoring.
  • Provide technical skills training to the VTs and research community in support of approved protocols.
  • Coordinate veterinary technical staff to ensure adequate coverage for animal health reports.
  • Conduct routine audits of animal holding rooms and procedure spaces to ensure animal health and well-being.
  • Perform daily clinical observations, health examinations of sick animals, and provide treatments per SOP.
  • Ensure and maintain veterinary records, such as sentinel health reports and drug log audits.
  • Contribute to the preventative animal health and animal surveillance program, including specimen collection and processing samples.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in animal science or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years related rodent care and handling experience.
  • Veterinary technical skills in a research setting.
  • AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technician level (LAT) or higher, CVT/LVT preferred.
