Overview:

At East River Medical Imaging, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional diagnostic imaging services with a focus on patient comfort and care. Our team comprises board-certified physicians specializing in various fields of medical imaging, including cross-sectional, musculoskeletal, oncologic, and neuroradiology. We are seeking a full-time Mammography Technologist to contribute to our mission. The successful candidate will operate imaging equipment and perform mammography procedures to aid physicians in diagnosing medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and position patients for mammography examinations.
  • Communicate procedures to patients to alleviate concerns and ensure cooperation.
  • Adjust imaging equipment to achieve optimal exposure settings based on patient characteristics.
  • Implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Process and review images for quality assurance and proper identification.
  • Educate patients on breast self-examination techniques and address inquiries.
  • Prepare images for review by radiologists or referring physicians.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on imaging equipment, coordinating repairs as necessary.
  • Perform Quality Assurance tests in compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in mammography, including diagnostic and screening procedures. Preferred experience with Hologic Dimensions. Must possess a valid NYS RT license and ARRT (M) certification. DEXA experience is a plus; training will be provided.

Education:

Associate's degree or equivalent from a recognized institution; or a combination of relevant education and experience.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with radiologic software.

Certificates and Licenses:
Mammography specialty certification (ARRT-MG), NYS RT License with Injection, and current BLS certification.

Work Environment:

The work environment includes exposure to mechanical parts and potential radiation. The noise level is typically moderate.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
