Overview:
At East River Medical Imaging, we are dedicated to delivering superior quality and accessibility in diagnostic imaging while ensuring compassion and comfort for our patients. Our team of physicians is certified by the American Board of Radiology, covering all areas of sub-specialty medical imaging, including cross-sectional, musculoskeletal, oncologic, and neuroradiology. We are currently in search of a full-time Mammography Technologist to enhance our services. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment and conducting mammography procedures to aid physicians in diagnosing diseases through the following responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients for mammography examinations.
- Communicate procedures to patients to alleviate concerns and ensure cooperation.
- Adjust imaging equipment to specified positions, determine exposure factors based on patient characteristics, and set controls to produce images with appropriate detail and accuracy.
- Implement radiation protection protocols to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Process images and conduct quality control checks for proper identification.
- Educate patients on breast self-examination techniques and address any inquiries.
- Prepare images for review by radiologists or referring physicians.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and coordinate repairs as necessary. Conduct Quality Assurance tests as mandated by the MQSA and assist with inspections.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field. Proficient in performing diagnostic and screening mammography as well as stereotactic biopsies. Previous experience with Hologic Dimensions is preferred. Must possess a NYS RT license and ARRT (M) certification. DEXA experience is a plus; training will be provided.
Education:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office and related software is required.
Certificates and Licenses:
Mammography specialty training certification (ARRT-MG), NYS RT License with Injection, and active BLS training are mandatory.
