Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will provide proficient patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. Your expertise will be utilized as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation.
  • Function as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures.
  • Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory.
  • Use knowledge and expertise to act as a role model and resource for other staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served.
  • Knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support and current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • New Grad, Surg Tech I =1 year, Surg Tech II = 2-4 years, Surg Tech III = 5+ years.
