Position Title: Sanitation Supervisor for Kitchen Operations

Reports To: Fleet & Facilities Manager

Employment Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Work Schedule: 7 AM to 3 PM

Organizational Mission: Meals on Wheels is dedicated to providing a range of services that empower seniors to maintain their independence and dignity in their own homes.

Role Summary:

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the sanitation team adheres to all established cleaning protocols. This role involves overseeing kitchen sanitation tasks to guarantee that all equipment is sanitized and safe for food preparation. The sanitation team plays a crucial role in maintaining a hygienic and secure work environment by effectively managing waste, trash, and debris in kitchen and restroom areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the cleaning operations throughout the shift and collaborate with the Supervisor on any concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all mandatory sanitation logs and HACCP guidelines within specified timeframes.
  • Train new staff on effective sanitation practices and procedures.
  • Perform cleaning duties in various temperature-controlled environments, including dry storage, coolers, and freezers.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment by adhering to the manufacturer's care instructions.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of all kitchen areas, including shared spaces within the facility.
  • Sanitize kitchen equipment post-use or during product transitions.
  • Manage excess water removal in food processing and warehouse areas.
  • Properly stage products on pallets according to established guidelines.
  • Operate electric pallet jacks or forklifts for product transportation.
  • Prepare pallets for storage or distribution.
  • Document cleaning activities to ensure seamless transitions between shifts and identify areas needing further attention.
  • Participate in local and state inspections as required.
  • Execute special cleaning tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to Meals on Wheels preferred work methods and promptly report any unsafe conditions.
  • Follow sanitation policies set by the organization and relevant health departments.
  • Comply with all Meals on Wheels policies and procedures.
  • Attend all mandatory company meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, particularly regarding job responsibilities and safety regulations.
  • Must meet the physical demands outlined in the job description.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screenings, including background checks and physical ability tests.

Compensation and Benefits:

The hourly wage for this position is $23. This is a regular, full-time role with a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, and may include occasional holidays.
