Position Overview:
The Financial Counselor plays a crucial role in managing private pay accounts. This position involves making necessary phone communications to secure insurance information and proposing flat rate options or linking accounts to medical coverage. Additionally, the counselor will assist the Emergency Room with Presumptive applications and facilitate the collection of copays and deductibles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and manage all private pay accounts effectively.
- Conduct phone outreach to obtain insurance details and offer suitable payment arrangements.
- Assist in the Emergency Room with Presumptive applications.
- Collect copays and deductibles as required.
- Ensure all surgical consent forms are properly completed and signed.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma is required; an associate's degree is preferred.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a hospital business office or three to five years in registration is preferred.
- One year of on-the-job training is necessary to achieve proficiency.
