Job Summary

Infinera is a global leader in innovative networking solutions, and we are seeking a highly skilled Optical Component Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our PIC design and engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing high-performance optical components, including lasers, SOAs, modulators, and detectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-performance optical components using InP devices, including lasers, SOAs, modulators, and detectors.
  • Collaborate with fab, epitaxy, test, and reliability engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of optical components into our products.
  • Develop and implement process development hands-on experience in InP opto-electronic fabrication.
  • Characterize and analyze material properties and epitaxy knowledge to ensure high-quality optical components.
  • Present data and ideas to a diverse audience, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related discipline with emphasis in optical communications and high-speed optical components.
  • Significant experience in optical components design for high-performance applications.
  • Experience with InP devices, including lasers, SOAs, modulators, and detectors.
  • Strong understanding of optical and electronic modeling and simulation software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
