Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities for the Staff Accountant will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the accounts receivable process, including billing, collections, and recording of payments.
  • Audit daily revenue posting accuracy and operating system transactions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and policy/procedure control.
  • Cross-Train with other accounting functions to support and understand accounts payable, income journal, and payroll functions.
  • Provide support and guidance as a team member of the accounting/financial department.
  • Respond to external guest calls and inquiries.
  • Assist with other special projects or tasks as assigned by Director of Finance or Accounting Manager.

Qualifications:

In addition to performance of key responsibilities and supportive functions, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
