Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement coding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Lead a team of coding professionals in the analysis and assignment of medical codes to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of coding services.
  4. Monitor and analyze coding data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  5. Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance coding accuracy and efficiency.
  6. Provide training and guidance to coding staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure the team is compliant with the latest requirements.

Requirements:

  1. Three years of progressive supervisory experience in a medical records department.
  2. RHIA or RHIT certification required; CCS certification preferred.
  3. Associate's degree in Health Information Technology required; Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred.
  4. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
