Job Summary

This position performs complex project management work and is responsible for managing capital construction projects. The successful candidate will have experience in construction project management, budgeting, scheduling, and cost estimating.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage complex construction projects from initiation to completion
  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with Division goals, policies, and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or closely related field
  • Five years of experience in construction project management, including experience in administrative processes, budgeting, scheduling, cost estimating, and team building
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects within constraints of scope, schedule, and budget
  • State driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Project Management software
  • Two years' experience scheduling projects using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
  • Experience in public speaking and conducting presentations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Sustainable Building Methods and Systems
  • Knowledge of outdoor resource-based recreational facilities and supporting infrastructure requirements
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Knowledge of construction estimating and appropriate levels of estimating as it applies to origination, planning, and bid costs for capital projects
  • Ability to guide outcomes and encourage others
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and work with frequent interruptions and multiple changing priorities
Working Conditions

This position requires working from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as necessary. The position also requires performing work outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions, and operating a State vehicle.
