About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinic Receptionist to join our team at CHI St. Alexius Health. As a Clinic Receptionist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic's schedule in accordance with our policies and procedures.
  • Interview, register, and update patient demographic and insurance information accurately and completely into our electronic medical record system.
  • Smile and greet all incoming patients, notify clinical staff of their arrival, and ensure patients are informed of any appointment delays.
  • Direct and screen incoming calls, gather information, and transfer calls to or take messages for appropriate staff in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Reschedule and/or contact orphaned appointments within 24 hours of the original appointment cancellation.
  • Accurately and timely record and update physician schedules relating to call, vacation, meeting, and clinic time.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to manage referrals and ensure test results and consultation reports are received back by clinic providers when patients are sent to outside facilities.
  • Copies, mail, scan, and file all medical information pertaining to patient records.
  • Follow release of information policies and procedures when verifying and releasing requested medical information.
  • Collect patient co-pays and issue receipts to patients.
  • Cross-train to perform basic clinical and laboratory processes as needed to maintain clinic efficiencies.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer use and business-related phone experience.
  • Computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and scheduling practices are required.
