GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, the Pediatric Occupational Therapist delivers therapeutic interventions, including assessment, treatment, and educational support. This role also involves supervising the treatment activities of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and aides.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Conducts comprehensive evaluations of assigned pediatric patients in line with established care standards.

· Develops and implements treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, adhering to best practices in occupational therapy.

· Ensures meticulous documentation of all services provided, in accordance with departmental guidelines.

· Participates in mandatory safety training sessions and articulates responsibilities related to overall safety, departmental safety, and specific job-related hazards.

· Adheres to hospital protocols regarding exposure control and infection prevention.

· Upholds respect and consideration for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, fostering a professional and courteous environment.

· Encourages effective collaboration and teamwork within the department and across units to achieve departmental goals.

· Maintains an active state license and submits proof of licensure status to the supervisor/manager promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

A. Education / Training:

· Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

B. Work Experience:

· Successful completion of a clinical internship.

· Previous clinical or rehabilitation experience is preferred.

C. Certification, Licensure, Registration:

· Current State Occupational Therapy license.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

D. Additional Skills:

· Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

· Demonstrates independent judgment and decision-making capabilities.

· Capable of making decisions under pressure.

· Effectively manages stress and challenging situations.

· Works independently and collaboratively in various environments.
