Job Title: Project Director

As a Project Director at Aston Carter, you will be responsible for ensuring daily work schedules are adhered to and working through exceptions daily. You will identify bottlenecks and make recommendations for opportunities for improvement. You will provide feedback to the master scheduler on workload levels, types, and available capacity. You will ensure daily work is performed safely and all employees adhere to the safety policy. You will drive accountability in all facets of operations. You will drive the talent planning and 1:1 development with direct reports and flow throughout the manufacturing organization. You will ensure on-time delivery, provide job status and estimates completion dates. You will provide verbal reminders to employees about work policies, including work start times, safety, work behavior, values, etc. You will recognize and reward employees for extra effort or outstanding job performance. You will identify training gaps of direct reports and shop employees and recommend development training for shop employees. You will manage daily manufacturing operations by identifying the number and kind of resources needed to successfully manufacture/fabricate to customer needs.

You will manage daily equipment and machinery needs by identifying needs for new, replacement, scheduled maintenance, repairs, cleaning, tooling, hand tools, supplies, and consumables to support manufacturing/fabrication processes.

You will lead and guide the supervisory leadership team. You will prepare, analyze, and issue production and performance reports. You will control costs to achieve company budget goals. You will manage, lead, and guide safety policies & safety committee.

Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience in managing production operations and knowledge regarding manufacturing and employment regulations, policies, practices, and procedures
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
  • 1+ years working on military projects is preferred
  • Knowledge of metals and raw materials along with the understanding of production processes, quality control, and costs of manufacturing is a plus
  • Experience in quickly ascertaining a situation and be decisive in implementation of problem solving measures
  • Proven ability to unify multiple departments and personnel to accomplish required goals and tasks
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants
  • Knowledge of industry principles such as lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies is preferred
