You will significantly contribute to driving store revenue and profitability by ensuring customer satisfaction and upholding brand standards through the recruitment, training, and development of associates in customer engagement, operational excellence, and merchandise presentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Recruit, interview, and onboard talented individuals.
2. Collaborate with the store leadership team to devise and implement associate retention strategies.
3. Cultivate a collaborative and engaged work environment, addressing and resolving associate concerns.
4. Communicate and educate associates on key priorities to enhance Sales, Service, and Loyalty.
5. Continuously mentor and coach all associates, including evaluating their performance for promotions or role changes.
6. Ensure associates comply with Kohl's policies and procedures.
7. Instill a hospitality mindset among all associates on the sales floor, delivering a premier customer experience.
8. Maintain a customer-ready store environment, ensuring associates uphold high standards of recovery and merchandising.
9. Make informed decisions to support store expense management (e.g., payroll, productivity, shortage).
10. Assist and guide associates on the point of commerce process.
11. Lead the implementation of all merchandising directives.
12. Demonstrate product knowledge, understanding customer demand and merchandising best practices to recommend selection and placement.
13. Collaborate with fellow store leaders to identify trends and opportunities for business recommendations.
14. Assess and allocate resources to meet business and workload demands.
15. Control merchandise flow by ensuring associates are replenishing stock, making products readily available to customers.
16. Exercise sound judgment and discretion in making necessary management decisions.
As an Assistant Store Manager, you will be part of the store leadership team, overseeing one or more departments and various functional areas throughout the store.
Your performance in these key responsibilities is crucial to the store's success.You will also play a significant role in leading associate development while assessing and enhancing your own growth.
The execution of these responsibilities will vary based on several factors, including the specific store environment, the composition of the store team, the departments or areas you oversee, and your experience.
This is a salaried, full-time position; the number of hours may fluctuate weekly.KEY QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
- Several years of experience managing substantial retail volume in a fast-paced customer service environment.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a large team of associates.
- Ability to anticipate challenges and devise solutions.
- Experience thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience collaborating with all management levels, building effective partnerships.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to multitask.
- Availability to open and close the store as needed.
- Willingness to occasionally work overnight.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing or moving about the sales floor.
- Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking, and/or reaching frequently.
