Financial Controller Job Description

Buttonsmith Inc is a dynamic and community-focused tech printer and manufacturer of merchandise, seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our finance team based in Redmond, WA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate on all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
  • Manage and oversee all financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Handle multi-state sales tax details and reporting.
  • Utilize Quickbooks enterprise for cost of goods sold, product assemblies, and pricing.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Manage cash flow and treasury functions, optimizing cash position and liquidity management.
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in financial management and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial management software and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience managing and developing a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
