Job Description

Microsoft Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller - Centralized Surface Planning to join our team. As a key member of our Consumer Sales Finance team, you will be responsible for leading and evolving the centralized planning function for our Surface Consumer business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Worldwide Product Category team, Surface Engineering Group (EG), and Surface Regional and HQ Finance teams to evolve the centralized planning framework for the Surface Consumer business.
  • Own the driver-based models, which standardize how we look at the business, and focus on deepening our insights and planning agility in the Hardware space.
  • Develop an approach that is adaptable for both planning and forecast purposes, and can scale to support the varying granularity needs across our Regions.
  • Collaborate deeply with EG and Demand Planning (Supply Chain) teams to form a unified planning view and provide thought leadership for our Surface finance & business communities in assessing opportunities and exposures.
  • Work closely with Category and EG on preparing new launches and validating long-range assumptions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field, and 6+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance, or related field.
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field, and 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance, or related field.
  • OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field, and 12+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience.
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field, and 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • 3+ years of work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • 3+ years of work experience in the technology or software industry.
  • Prior Hardware experience and/or CSO experience is highly desirable.
  • Mastery of complex analytics & modelling and ability to distill critical insights & decision points.
  • Process management acumen – able to synthesize & simplify multiple deliverables into concise logical workflows.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English.
  • Willingness to work international hours and ability to thrive in virtual and global team set-up.
