In collaboration with the Wine & Spirits Manager, you will assist in overseeing the Wine & Spirits team, ensuring adherence to company policies and achievement of departmental goals while addressing the needs of associates.


As a leader in the Wine & Spirits Department, you will guide a team of knowledgeable associates who provide expert product recommendations and create a pleasant shopping experience.


Key Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote Festival's culture, customer service, and performance standards among all Wine & Spirits associates.

Assist in the recruitment and training of new department staff.

Prepare and approve weekly work schedules for associates.

Support performance evaluations for team members.

Document policy violations and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Provide guidance and answer inquiries from all Wine & Spirits associates.

Ensure compliance with departmental standards.

Monitor sales floor and back stock conditions; address areas needing improvement.

Maintain optimal inventory levels and accurate pricing for products.

Collaborate with vendors, the Wine & Spirits Manager, and associates to uphold standards and exceed customer expectations.

Deliver exceptional customer service to guests.

Assist customers in locating items on the sales floor.

Process orders and special requests.

Handle phone inquiries with professionalism.

Resolve guest concerns and issues effectively.

Facilitate customer checkouts.

Support associates in their daily tasks while leading by example.

Develop team members for future advancement opportunities.


Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the department by maintaining work areas, shelving, and the sales floor.

Ensure accurate timekeeping for the department and communicate any discrepancies to HR.

Meet quality standards, including quantity expectations by specified times.

Other duties as assigned.

Maintain regular attendance in accordance with the work schedule and provide adequate notice for absences.

QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential job duties effectively. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

High School diploma or equivalent experience.


Must be at least 21 years old to sample products in the Wine & Spirits department.

Possess leadership qualities and the ability to motivate a team.

Strong knowledge of retail operations and Wine & Spirits department functions is preferred.

Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with customers and staff.

Capable of making timely decisions in the absence of the Wine & Spirits Department Manager.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Thorough understanding of safety protocols and company policies.


Must be able to apply safety training to identify and respond to potential hazards.

Knowledge of equipment and procedures, including hand jacks, balers, forklifts, pallet jacks, trash compactors, and proper lifting and scanning techniques is required.

WORK SCHEDULE
The Assistant Manager of Wine & Spirits is a full-time hourly position. The work schedule will include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
