The Junior Account Executive in Revenue Cycle Operations will play a crucial role in optimizing the workflow within a dedicated team. This position requires effective communication to ensure a seamless process that enhances practice revenue while providing regular updates to Senior Account Executives on all account-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate payments from all payers.
- Follow up on outstanding items and client concerns, swiftly identifying and resolving any issues that disrupt the Revenue Cycle for clients.
- Act as the initial escalation point for all lead issues within the assigned team.
- Support the Senior Account Executive in training and developing team members.
- Coordinate daily and weekly meetings with the assigned team to discuss open items.
- Track and resolve issues faced by payment posters within the portfolio.
- Monitor and address issues encountered by the denial team within the portfolio.
- Review monthly closing reports to verify that all payments have been accurately applied to assigned accounts.
- Collaborate with Senior Account Executives to conduct the End of Month Reconciliation.
- Report unresolved items to upper management in a timely manner.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance.
- Stay informed about ICD9/ICD10 diagnostic codes and CPT/HCPCS procedural coding.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of insurance carriers and their claim guidelines.
- Guide the team to achieve production targets and facilitate quicker resolutions when targets are not met.
- Regularly assess a percentage of payments posted and accounts receivable worked for accuracy, ensuring adherence to policies.
- Follow up on submitted invoices as necessary.
- Assist in the creation and updating of training modules for Collections and train both new and existing employees.
- Make calls to resolve payment discrepancies and establish solutions.
- Document phone interactions meticulously, including details such as the person spoken to and the nature of the conversation.
- Resolve denial issues within five days of receipt.
- Engage with colleagues in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management or Medical Billing.
- Familiarity with Practice Management Systems; experience with Medics Premier and/or Medics Elite is advantageous.
- Experience with electronic claim submissions via Clearinghouse; knowledge of Emdeon/Change Healthcare is a plus.
- Experience billing for multiple specialties.
- Proficient in billing both Professional and Institutional claims, with a solid understanding of HCFA-1500 and UB-04 claim forms, as well as their electronic equivalents.
- Experience processing ERAs and enrolling in EDI.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with provider credentialing is beneficial.
