Job Title: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a key member of our Ryan White Clinic, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with infectious diseases.

Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse will work under the nurse protocol agreement with a delegating physician to perform advanced nursing functions and healthcare services. This includes counseling patients, ordering diagnostic testing, conducting physicals and routine examinations, and providing treatment. The ideal candidate will have experience in STD/infectious disease and be certified in the specialty area(s) approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates health department clinical programs and activities with local health department Administrator, District Health Office, and State Office staff.
  • Monitors and evaluates nursing and other clinical programs for the county.
  • Provides supervision of public health staff in the county health department setting.
  • Organizes, coordinates, and implements community health services according to agency policies, programs, objectives, and resources available in the assigned area of responsibility.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • Certification in the specialty area(s) approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • Two years of nursing experience and Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse and Georgia license as an APRN.
  • CPR certification.
