We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine qualitative and quantitative clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens, following established methodologies and policies.
- Analyze test results and communicate them clearly and accurately to physicians and other authorized personnel.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of specimens received in the laboratory.
- Utilize, calibrate, and maintain automated, non-automated, and computerized laboratory equipment.
- Comply with established administrative lab policies and procedures, as well as requirements of lab safety, OSHA accreditation, and regulatory agencies.
- Two-year college degree in an approved Medical Lab Technician program or equivalent.
- Registry eligible or registered as a Medical Laboratory Technician with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, National Certifying Agency, or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and medical software preferred.
