Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine qualitative and quantitative clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens.
  • Analyze test results and communicate them clearly and accurately to physicians and other authorized personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of specimens received in the laboratory.
  • Utilize, calibrate, and maintain automated, non-automated, and computerized laboratory equipment.
  • Obtain specimens from patients and transport them to the laboratory.

Requirements:

  • Two-year college degree in an approved Medical Laboratory Technician program or equivalent.
  • Registry eligible or registered as a Medical Laboratory Technician with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, National Certifying Agency, or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and medical software preferred.
