Job Summary:

The Product Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving the development, testing, and improvement of company products throughout their lifecycle. This position requires close collaboration with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure that products meet both customer expectations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:Product Development:

Lead the engineering efforts during product development, ensuring that all products are designed to meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.

Provide technical support during the design phase, including material selection, manufacturability analysis, and performance evaluation.

Testing and Validation:

Develop and implement test plans to validate product designs, including functional, durability, and environmental testing.

Analyze test data to identify potential design improvements and ensure that products meet all performance criteria.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to improve product performance, reduce costs, and enhance manufacturing processes.

Work with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and monitor their effectiveness.

Documentation:

Create and maintain detailed product documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and manufacturing instructions.

Ensure that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and complies with company standards.

Manufacturing Support:

Collaborate with the manufacturing team to resolve any production issues related to product design.

Provide technical guidance to ensure that products are manufactured to specification and that any design-related issues are quickly addressed.

Cost Optimization:

Analyze product costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or performance.

Work with suppliers to negotiate material and component costs, and explore alternative materials or processes to achieve cost savings.

Customer Interaction:

Act as a technical liaison with customers to address product-related inquiries, provide technical support, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Gather customer feedback and incorporate it into product improvements.

Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards.

Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address any product quality issues.

Job Requirements:Education:

B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) from an accredited institution, or equivalent practical education and experience.

Experience:

Minimum of two years of experience in product engineering, product development, or a related field, with a focus on design and manufacturing processes.

Skills:

Strong understanding of product design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.

Ability to manage multiple projects and adjust priorities in a dynamic work environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
