Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using various phlebotomy methods, including venous, capillary, arterial, and line collections.
  • Provide rapid response to medical emergencies, such as traumas and codes.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
  • Interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Use computer programs and systems to accurately identify patients, label specimens, and track laboratory results.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain certification and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency, such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Health Career Association (NHA), or the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT), preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of laboratory information systems.
