Clinical Triage Nurse Position

About the Role

This position requires a RN with multi-state compact licensure status, at least 3 years of experience in a clinical setting, emergency, urgent care, or managed care. Experience in nurse advise triage, hospice, home health care, oncology, and infusion centers is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Performing clinical triage reviews of inbound calls to ensure clinically appropriate direction and triage
  • Utilizing clinical skills to coordinate, document, and communicate all aspects of the appropriate clinical advice and triage based on criteria and adopted guidelines and protocols
  • Validating and interpreting medical information from callers using evidence-based criteria sets
  • Consulting with Medical Directors on non-emergent cases where protocols are not clear
  • Referring callers of various acuities to venues of care
