Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist:

Methodist Hospital seeks a seasoned clinical pharmacy specialist to excel in providing patient-centered care and advancing the field of oncology pharmacotherapy. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of complex cancer treatment protocols and demonstrate exceptional clinical expertise in interpreting medical orders, managing medication therapy regimens, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement targeted interventions to optimize patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless transitions of care
  • Maintain proficiency in current literature and emerging trends in oncology pharmacotherapy
  • Design and lead educational programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals
  • Analyze data to inform quality improvement initiatives and drive best practices in medication use
  • Promote adherence to regulatory requirements and hospital policies

Education and Experience:

The successful candidate should hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent, with at least 1 year of experience in hospital clinical pharmacy or 2 years of general hospital pharmacy experience. BCPS certification and current registration as a pharmacist in Texas or another state are also essential.
