Job Title: Advanced Clinical Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced pharmaceutical care manager to join our team at Methodist Hospital. As a clinical oncology pharmacotherapy expert, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role:

  • Interpret and transcribe medical orders accurately into the pharmacy computer system
  • Compound and dispense medications efficiently and effectively
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, and appropriateness of medication and dose
  • Provide clinical consultation and clarification to healthcare practitioners
  • Support the hospital formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy selection
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary and bedside rounds
  • Sustain quality improvement initiatives through collaboration with the pharmacy leadership team
  • Communicate accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients
  • Engage in various clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, and pain management programs

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PhD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital clinical pharmacy or 2 years of general hospital pharmacy experience; preferably within oncology focus
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) certification or equivalent Board of Pharmacy Specialty (BPS) certification
  • Current Registered Pharmacist license in Texas or another state: Proof of Authorization to Test (ATT) from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required
