Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team at Rhodes Convenience Stores Inc. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining guest service, ensuring maximum sales and profitability, and managing food operating costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Service: Ensure that each guest receives outstanding guest service by providing a guest-friendly environment, greeting and acknowledging every guest, and maintaining outstanding standards.
  • Profitable Sales: Assist the General Manager in offering suggestions on how to achieve the budgeted sales and maintain budgeted gross profit.
  • Financial Management: Assist in controlling shrink, expenses, and payroll.
  • In-Stock Management: Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise adjacencies, and presentations.
  • Goals and Objectives: Review store trends and recommend changes for maximizing goals and objectives.
  • Policies and Procedures: Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures and accurate completion of paperwork associated with cashier reports, payroll, and other miscellaneous items.
  • Performance Review: Continually evaluate and communicate performance issues to the General Manager and actively recruit employees.
  • Talent Management: Train and develop Customer Service employees and direct and monitor training and development for employees.
  • Cleanliness: Ensure the store is clean, neat, and meeting the expectations of Rhodes 101.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 1 year retail and/or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Training and Certification: Completion of our training program and food safety certification required.
Physical Demands:

The Physical Demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
