Job Overview

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Associate is to oversee the management of materials inventory and facilitate the material requirements planning process. This role involves close collaboration with planning, warehouse, and procurement teams to ensure the effective execution of the materials plan.

Key Responsibilities:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing and implementing procedures to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Conducting verification checks on stored inventory and removing items that do not meet company standards.
  • Receiving, unloading, and properly storing incoming inventory items.
  • Organizing pallets and sorting cases for appropriate distribution.
  • Updating inventory counts and maintaining accurate records for management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with various teams, including warehouse, sales, shipping, and purchasing.
  • Identifying, escalating, and resolving issues promptly to mitigate risks.
  • Monitoring slow-moving and obsolete inventory and developing strategies to address these items.
  • Creating, tracking, and publishing departmental and site KPIs, setting goals for improvement.
  • Maintaining documentation and accurate records of warehouse operations.
  • Identifying and implementing cost-reduction strategies, waste elimination, and service enhancement.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned, including achieving mutually agreed-upon objectives.
  • Contributing ideas for improving or optimizing warehousing processes.
  • Providing support to the Sales Department as needed to ensure objectives are met.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in operating a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Experience in supply chain planning utilizing Excel and/or software solutions.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and resolve problems effectively.
  • Capable of working under pressure, particularly during inventory challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent reading comprehension.
  • Ability to organize tasks across interrelated departments.
  • Adept at multitasking and managing multiple issues simultaneously without stress.
  • Willingness to learn and be trained in new skills as required by the company.
