Job Summary

The Steward position at Plant Riverside District is a vital role that supports the Culinary/Food & Beverage team by maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen. This includes washing dishes, pots, and pans, organizing and cleaning the kitchen, and ensuring events are set up according to the banquet event order.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional service to internal and external guests in a warm and friendly manner, adhering to Kessler standards.
  • Operate the telephone system, answering calls within three rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
  • Maintain the integrity of guests' privacy, including confidentiality of personal information and key control.
  • Protect Company assets and maintain the confidentiality of Company proprietary information.
  • Operate the dishwashing equipment efficiently, using the proper number of products and reporting any deficiencies.
  • Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Assist in plating and hot boxing food in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Transport items from the Banquet Kitchen/Kitchen to designated spaces.
  • Assist with banquet breakdowns and events, ensuring all sets are elevated and meet the highest standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pantry and coolers, cleaning countertops and walls, and mopping floors.
  • Segregate and remove trash and garbage, placing it in designated containers, and regularly emptying garbage containers.
  • Rinse out and wash garbage cans, sorting bottles, plastics, and other recyclable items.
  • Stack clean dishes and transfer equipment to the proper storage area.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of Company policies and procedures, adhering to safety and security protocols.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with the team, supporting each other to achieve our goals.
  • Attend required training and meetings, and perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of guest service etiquette and proper food and beverage serving techniques.
  • Knowledge of Stewarding/Banquets.
  • Ability to operate an industrial dishwasher.
  • Ability to work quickly, prioritize, and maintain service of multiple guests.
  • Ability to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgment, and effectively solve problems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or related training equivalent - required.
  • 1+ year of relevant work experience in a similar scope and title preferred.
  • Experience within luxury brand/markets - preferred.
