Position Overview: The primary responsibility of a Retail Sales Consultant is to effectively showcase Conn's offerings and financing solutions through exceptional customer engagement. Retail Sales Consultants are tasked with guiding customers through every phase of the purchasing journey. They possess in-depth knowledge of our diverse product lines, which include electronics, appliances, furniture, and mattresses, and are expected to creatively address each customer's unique requirements while overcoming any challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized assistance to customers throughout the purchasing process, including product selection, payment options, financing, and delivery arrangements.
  • Conduct daily outreach to both existing and prospective customers via phone.
  • Drive new sales opportunities across our extensive range of business services.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment by supporting colleagues.
  • Assist with merchandising and store setup, which may involve moving, assembling, cleaning, and maintaining showroom displays.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service in alignment with company standards.
  • Stay informed about current promotions and advertised products.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to address and resolve customer inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive sales materials and product knowledge across various categories.
  • Build and sustain relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Achieve key performance metrics and sales targets established by the company on a monthly basis.
  • Uphold confidentiality and adhere to all credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maximize each sales opportunity by offering relevant services, products, and accessories during customer interactions.
  • Perform all job functions with integrity and honesty.
  • Follow Conn's established sales procedures for all transactions.
  • Comply with reasonable management requests to undertake additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in appliance, furniture, or electronics sales.
  • Background in customer service.
  • Experience within a retail environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Outgoing and engaging personality, eager to interact with customers both in person and over the phone.
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.

  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays; regular attendance is essential.

Working Environment:

  • Work is conducted in a retail store setting.
  • Physical demands include standing for extended periods, packing, lifting boxes for inventory management, and utilizing technology and computers.
  • Efficiently handle and move merchandise, including lifting or transporting items weighing up to 40 pounds or more.
