Job Title: Line Operator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Line Operator to join our team at Lauridsen Group, Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient collection of bovine plasma in compliance with FDA, USDA, and OSHA regulations.

Job Summary:

The Line Operator will be responsible for operating production equipment under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor and/or Shift Lead. This includes preparing collection containers, manually handling animal hides, and safely operating line equipment to remove collection containers from hides for placement onto conveyor lines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare collection containers using plastic liners, ensuring proper placement to eliminate contamination hazards.
  • Manually handle animal hides to ensure proper placement for safe use of the hydraulic line manipulator.
  • Safely operate line equipment, including the hydraulic line manipulator, to remove collection containers from hides for placement onto conveyor lines.
  • Remove plastic liners from collection containers and ensure proper disposal.
  • Notify management of any major safety or equipment issues in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to GMP standard operating procedures and comply with all basic FDA, USDA, and other regulatory requirements related to the collection of raw materials.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships and communications with employees from all other departments and peers.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area.
Requirements:
  • Ability to handle materials in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to learn to handle edible and inedible protein materials in accordance with established sanitary procedures and practices.
  • Ability to understand and follow established work procedures, including mandated sanitary and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to learn and safely operate various types of equipment/machinery required in job duties.
  • Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and situations as they arise, notifying appropriate staff of problems beyond scope of normality.
  • Ability to interpret and work from oral and written instructions.
  • Basic level of mathematical skills.
  • Ability to document data legibly for record-keeping purposes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Proliant personnel.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions related to essential job duties.
  • Ability to work daily, weekends, and extended hours as necessary.
  • Firmly adheres to the values and ethics of Proliant.
  • Able and willing to perform tasks and duties independently.
  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude and work ethic.
  • Follows all GMPs and works in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory, food, safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
Working Conditions and Exposures:

The Line Operator will be exposed to various chemicals used during processing and clean-up, high noise levels, moving machinery/equipment, and prolonged standing on concrete floors.

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to lift weights up to 60 pounds, push/pull/maneuver equipment/products/materials, and work in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including three weeks of paid time off per year, a generous company retirement match, and productivity bonuses.

Starting pay is $24.00/hr, with a $2.00/hr shift premium for the night shift. We're hiring for both A shift (6:15 am - 3:00 pm) and B shift (3:30 pm - 12:00 am).
