We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate veterinarian to lead our shelter health program in Nashville. Salary: $106,923.76 - $165,731.85 per year, plus comprehensive benefits package.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading high-impact medicine initiatives, driving program innovation, championing animal welfare, guiding a medical team, and building community solutions. You will work closely with local universities to advance shelter medicine practices and participate in public health initiatives that expand access to veterinary care across Nashville-Davidson County.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct a comprehensive shelter health program, performing high-volume spay/neuter surgeries and complex medical procedures.
  • Develop medical guidelines, train staff, and collaborate with local universities to advance shelter medicine practices.
  • Provide expert testimony in animal cruelty cases and conduct medical assessments to inform animal protection policies.
  • Mentor veterinary technicians and shelter staff, fostering a culture of compassionate care while maintaining high medical standards.
  • Participate in public health initiatives, manage community clinic programs, and develop partnerships to expand access to veterinary care.
