Job Summary

Cranbrook Educational Community is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security and Safety Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our campus, students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol the campus by vehicle and on foot to deter criminal activity and respond to emergencies.
  • Perform shift-specific unlocks and lockups, traffic control, and report safety and security concerns or hazards.
  • Respond to all campus emergencies and provide general security and safety support.
  • Monitor and maintain security systems, including IP-based cameras and access control.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in security, safety, loss prevention, or a related field.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens Training required or obtained within 30 days of hiring.
  • Knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS) and general computer skills preferred.
  • Valid Michigan driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.
