College Essay Coach

Job Summary:

Flex College Prep is seeking experienced writers and educators to join our team as College Essay Instructors. As a College Essay Instructor, you will work with high school juniors and seniors to develop and refine their college application essays. This is a unique opportunity to share your expertise and passion for writing with students who are eager to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with students in one-on-one or small group settings to discuss their college application essays
  • Provide guidance and feedback to help students develop their writing skills and tell their story
  • Work with students to understand their strengths and weaknesses and develop a plan to improve their essays
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a high-quality experience for students

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, or Humanities from a U.S. Top 50 college or university
  • Strong communication skills to establish rapport with students and colleagues
  • Proven writing and teaching experience, with a focus on high school students
  • Availability to work at least some evenings and Saturdays consistently
  • Ability to work in-person at our offices
