Job Title: Technology Specialist I

At Middlebury College, we are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Technology Specialist I to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will provide front-line technology support to our faculty, staff, and students, ensuring they have the technical assistance they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for a wide range of technology issues, including operating systems, hardware, software applications, and network services.
  • Research and stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends, ensuring you have the knowledge to effectively support our users.
  • Utilize product information and solution databases to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions to technical problems.
  • Document all diagnostics steps and solutions to new technical problems, ensuring that knowledge is shared with the team and available for future reference.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior technicians or vendors as needed, ensuring that our users receive timely and effective support.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent with a strong background in customer service and technical support.
  • Working knowledge of printing, Windows, and Macintosh hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in a customer service role, preferably in a Service Desk and information services setting.
  • Working knowledge of ticketing and knowledgebase systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel, providing clear and concise solutions to technical problems.
