Position Overview: The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging disciplines within nutrition, food science, microbiology, and engineering, focusing on the microbiome's role in health maintenance and chronic disease prevention. Responsibilities encompass advancing research initiatives that explore how dietary, lifestyle, environmental, and age-related changes in the microbiome influence health outcomes. Teaching duties will include delivering two courses annually, with potential for additional instruction as necessary. Candidates with a strong background in bioinformatics, molecular biology, and microbiome interactions related to diet and health are highly encouraged to apply. Research support will be available through established cores at Pennington Biomedical Research Center and LSU Veterinary Medicine, alongside dedicated laboratory space for the successful candidate's research endeavors.

Qualification Requirements: A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or a closely related field is required. Post-doctoral experience with a focus on microbiome research is preferred.Demonstrated research excellence, the ability to secure external funding, and a commitment to teaching and mentoring students are essential.
