About the Role

Moss, a leading national construction firm, is seeking a highly skilled Solar Early-Stage Project Manager to join our Preconstruction team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering fully contracted projects, including LNTPs and EPC Agreements, to Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Estimate and Proposal Review: Review project estimates and proposals to understand EPC scope and design assumptions, and apply contents to Final Contract/Contract Value negotiations.
  • Contract Negotiations: Lead contract review and negotiations with the Operations, Risk, Contract Management, and Legal teams.
  • Procurement and Information Management: Procure Owner-provided information, including surveys, geotechnical data, design criteria, etc., to support project-specific design.
  • Scheduling and Cash Flow Analysis: Work with Scheduling and Operations to create baseline and target schedules, and perform cash flow analysis to ensure the project remains cash-positive.
  • Document Management: Maintain a filing system for Project Documents, ensuring folder structure consistency.
  • Due Diligence and Design Process: Inform Owners of cost and schedule as it relates to Due Diligence, Design, and material deposits, and develop a Limited Notice to Proceed for Early Works.
  • Early Works Agreements: Develop and process Early Works Agreements, including terms and conditions, scopes of work, schedules, insurance requirements, and costs.
  • Project Coordination: Manage Due Diligence and Design process, engage with engineers for geotechnical testing and design scopes of work, and coordinate safety, utility locates, schedule, costs, and commercial issues with Safety & Operations.
  • Permitting Process: Lead the permitting process during preconstruction, coordinating with Engineering and Operations, and hand off permitting to Project Management once the project team is assigned.
  • Owner Meetings: Conduct regular Owner meetings during preconstruction with all relevant stakeholders, including Project Updates, Engineering, Critical Impacts, etc.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Provide weekly reports, both internal and external, including schedule, key open items, and manage Preconstruction Budget Tracking Logs, Exhibit Tracking Logs, and RFI Logs until the Owner EPC Agreement is finalized.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 4+ years of experience as an Early-Stage Project Manager within the Solar/EPC construction industry.
  • Skills: Strong computer skills, including familiarity with construction project management applications, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and strong leadership and cultural development skills.
