Cyber Operations Systems Administrator

Position Overview:

The Mission Systems Group (MSG) is actively engaged in providing cybersecurity, engineering, and support personnel for the Defensive Cyber Operations for Space (DCO-S) program office.

We are currently seeking a Cyber Operations Systems Administrator to assist our Space Force client and the existing DCO-S team. This role requires candidates to be local to Colorado Springs, CO, and to work on-site full-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the administration of DCO-S tool suites.
  • Occasional travel to support DCO-S clients, up to 25% of the time.
  • Collaborate with the software development team to ensure successful implementation and delivery of two custom-built applications within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Provide constructive feedback to the software development team, contributing to continuous improvement through DevSecOps practices.
  • Support systems engineering and integration of cyber-relevant capabilities into the Space Force's DCO-S mission systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in DOD operational, cybersecurity, IT, or technical support roles.
  • Strong technical expertise.
  • At least 2 years of experience with:
    • Container and virtual applications (Docker, Ansible, VMware)
    • Linux operating systems (Red Hat)
    • Cybersecurity tools (Suricata, Zeek)
    • Elastic, Logstash, Kibana (ELK)
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Current 8140 IAM III/IAT Level III or higher certification.
  • Active U.S. DoD Top Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or Engineering disciplines, or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or Engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with Space Force mission system sustainment.
  • Familiarity with enterprise management tools (Dell, Cisco, Palo Alto, Gigamon).
  • Experience in DCO operations.
  • AWS engineering or system administration experience.
