KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
A) Comply with GMPs and PPE protocols for production environments.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Act as the resident expert on customer specifications.
- Support the Supervisor during plant start-ups; assist Quality Control; ensure appropriate skill sets are allocated effectively, and manage absenteeism.
- Prepare to be operational 15 minutes before production starts.
- Ensure all documentation is accurately completed (zero errors).
- Serve as the first line of support on the production line (fill-in as needed).
- Oversee the temporary workforce.
- Be an effective trainer; ensure that new and temporary employees are adequately trained on job responsibilities, safety protocols, GMPs, and processes before they begin work.
- Take primary responsibility for safety and cleanliness in all primary and secondary processing areas (e.g., cooler). Drive continuous improvement in these areas.
- Provide feedback on employee performance (both positive and developmental) to the supervisor or manager.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the supervisor regarding any production-related issues or concerns.
- Ensure all business unit employees complete their Annual Required Training, including GMPs and Safety.
- Facilitate cross-training within the process area; monitor performance once employees are in their roles (e.g., number of deviations, errors, etc.).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- A minimum of 6 months experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in computer usage with knowledge of operating systems (Windows), word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheets (Excel), and basic email (Outlook) skills preferred.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
To fulfill this job role, an individual must complete the required job-specific training as outlined in the Training Register.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Strong verbal, telephone, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Ability to read and comprehend moderately complex information (instruction manuals, procedural documents, manufacturing specifications). Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Mathematical skills sufficient to perform basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Ability to legibly record basic information (filling out forms, taking messages). Analytical skills to utilize clearly defined work procedures and readily available facts to make recommendations that meet established performance requirements.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position functions as an area lead worker, performing similar tasks as those supervised. Also responsible for training, instructing, and directing co-workers and assisting in managing the production schedule. May provide input into performance evaluations. Accuracy is critical. Duties are assigned by the Area Supervisor or others and performed under occasional guidance. Completed tasks are reviewed for accuracy by a work leader or supervisor. This position has the authority to make decisions or suggestions based on established rules or procedures; more complex decisions are referred to the Area Supervisor or higher levels for resolution. The role involves direct interaction with customers in the immediate work area, requiring an understanding of and responsiveness to their needs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work demands may include mandatory overtime, tight deadlines, and seasonal/cyclical work activities. Physical activities routinely required include sitting, walking, repetitive motions, standing for extended periods, and verbal communication. Physical requirements are primarily sedentary, with the expectation to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
