Housing Navigator Role: As a full-time Housing Navigator with the YWCA, you will play a vital role in supporting our guests at the Norma Herr Shelter in Cleveland. Your primary responsibility will be conducting comprehensive housing assessments, creating personalized housing plans, and providing short-term crisis intervention services to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.

About the Job: To excel in this position, candidates must possess at least 2 years of relevant experience working with vulnerable populations, coupled with excellent group facilitation and educational session skills. A deep understanding of human development within the program context, including areas such as child abuse, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health diagnosis, and suicide risk assessment, is also essential. Additionally, a valid Ohio driver's license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle are required for transportation purposes. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, are highly valued in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct housing assessments and create personalized housing plans for our guests
  • Provide short-term crisis intervention services to support housing stability
  • Transport guests as needed, ensuring timely and safe travel
  • Maintain accurate data collection and produce outcome measurement reports to track client progress
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment for shelter guests and staff
