Job Title

Administrative Support Specialist (part-time)

This role provides critical support to the Writing & Academic Support Center, focusing on administrative tasks and day-to-day operations. The position is a nine-month academic year role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct office support to the Writing & Academic Support Center, including answering in-person queries, phone calls, and emails from students, faculty, and staff; processing purchase orders; ordering office supplies; scheduling class visits; and promoting workshops;
  • Coordinate the daily schedule of 'set' and drop-in student appointments with Professional and Peer Tutors and Writing Coaches, including appointment scheduling;
  • Schedule and monitor accommodation exams, assist students with needs assessment requirements (scribe, read, computer, spell), and return tests to faculty;
  • Aid in College-wide initiatives promoting retention through student academic success and student engagement within the NEC community;
  • Analyze and compile data related to student usage and initiate outreach activities supporting tutoring services;
  • Operate according to established systems, general policies, and procedures within the Writing & Academic Support Center at the Danforth Library and the umbrella of Student Success Services.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years' experience in administrative office support, preferably in an academic or non-profit organization;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and take initiative;
  • Associate's degree;
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills;
Estimated Salary Range

$35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
