Position Overview
JobsRUs is looking for a dedicated SOX Compliance and Internal Controls Manager to oversee compliance and control measures for our client.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
Available to work in any time zone, with a requirement to be online during core hours of 10 AM to 2 PM PST.

About the Team:
The Reporting, Technical Accounting, and Controls team is integral to ensuring the accurate presentation and filing of all necessary SEC reports. This team also assesses and implements new accounting standards, provides insights on technical and transactional accounting matters, and collaborates with business units to design and implement SOX business process and IT general controls. We serve as a crucial business partner within the organization.

Role Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will focus on the design and implementation of controls for new products, ensuring they are operational and effective. Key responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with business leaders and control owners to evaluate potential business changes and their impacts on SOX business process controls.
  • Acting as a SOX subject matter expert to assist in creating processes that meet compliance requirements while accommodating future growth.
  • Identifying and addressing gaps in internal control designs that could pose financial reporting risks.
  • Working with control owners to develop and execute remediation plans.
  • Partnering with the IT SOX compliance team to address internal control considerations for system implementations.
  • Coordinating with internal and external audit teams to ensure alignment on SOX planning and evaluations.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • In-depth knowledge of SOX requirements for business processes and related IT components.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), particularly ASC 606, and familiarity with auditing standards.
  • Experience with SEC reporting requirements related to financial statements.
  • Familiarity with auditing programs and automation tools.
  • Exceptional analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Effective decision-making skills in uncertain situations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally including Big 4 public accounting and compliance or audit experience at a publicly traded company.
  • Experience with a public accounting firm, compliance or audit experience, and a publicly traded company is required.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a managerial role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Docs.
