JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:The CBRN SME provides critical technical expertise and analysis related to CBRN equipment intended for military operations. This position is essential for ensuring that military units are fully prepared and capable of responding effectively to CBRN threats. The SME will work closely with various stakeholders to design specialized training programs, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and contribute to the overall success of missions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver technical assessments on CBRN equipment, from complex systems to individual component repairs.
- Execute maintenance and repairs on CBRN equipment to guarantee operational readiness and safety compliance.
- Conduct routine inspections and inventory audits to monitor CBRN equipment and materials.
- Assess the alignment of procured equipment with mission objectives.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including equipment records and maintenance logs.
- Keep precise records of government-furnished equipment (GFE).
- Perform audits of CBRN storage facilities to ensure safety compliance.
- Provide part numbers for initial equipment fielding and acquisitions.
- Coordinate procurement and logistics to ensure timely deployment of equipment.
- Offer technical assistance for CBRN-related challenges.
- Facilitate training on the operation and maintenance of CBRN equipment.
- Develop training programs focused on equipment operation and repair.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In-depth knowledge of CBRN equipment operations and maintenance.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks governing hazardous materials.
- Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate risks and formulate strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt and perform effectively in dynamic environments.
- Familiarity with plumbing and electrical systems.
- Proficient in military terminology.
- Capability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in physical science or five years of relevant experience.
- Experience in delivering presentations and certification as a Hazmat Technician.
- Prior military experience in CBRN operations.
- Experience in inventory management and small engine operations.
PREFERRED:
- Master's degree in physical science or seven years of relevant experience.
- Certification in CBRN equipment operation and hazardous materials management.
