Job Summary:

The Executive Director of Store Operations will be responsible for driving profitability for one RaceTrac store and leading up to 45 employees. This individual will continually deliver on RaceTrac's mission of making people's lives simpler and more enjoyable through a focus on friendly service, food execution, cleanliness, building talent, and driving success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Friendly Service: Establish an environment of prompt, efficient, and courteous service and effectively engage in conflict management.
  • Leadership: Lead and direct positive and professional relationships with co-workers, direct reports, guests, and vendors.
  • Communication: Communicate respectfully and maintain a consistent team-oriented attitude and store culture.
  • Guest Concerns: Manage and mitigate any reported guest concerns on designated shifts with a sense of urgency and involve appropriate regional team members as needed.
  • Cash Handling: Efficiently complete guest transactions at the cash register or self-checkout stations and suggest products that complement purchases.
  • Food Service: Drive excellence in food service by executing designed processes, implementing goals to increase sales and margin, ensuring product quality, and using training resources.
  • Cleanliness: Ensure all food offers are available; ensure preparation areas and equipment are clean and properly maintained.
  • Store Presentation: Direct, monitor, and adhere to all RaceTrac, federal, state, and local safety-related regulations, including food safety regulations.
  • Shift Duties: Execute shift duties, maintain overall presentation standards, and represent the RaceTrac brand.
  • Talent Development: Demonstrate RaceTrac's Core Values of Honesty, Efficiency, Positive Attitude, Respect, and Teamwork.
  • Leadership Qualities: Display RaceTrac's Leadership Qualities through acting with a servant-leader mentality, prioritizing tasks appropriately, going the extra mile for guests and your team, listening, and communicating respectfully, and solving problems with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Inventory Management: Strategically direct control of inventory and the distribution of materials, merchandise, and supplies.
  • Financial Analysis: Review financial statements, sales, analysis reports, and other performance data to measure productivity.
  • Operational Improvements: Actively identify areas of operational improvements based on market trends.
  • Vendor Relationships: Develop and maintain a relationship with vendors to ensure efficient and correct deliveries.
  • Communication: Ensure communication is passed to every team member in the store.
  • Coaching and Development: Use company provided tools to coach, mentor and develop a high performing store team.
  • Risk Management: Ensure all risk management issues are in compliance with company standards.
  • Scheduling: Create or approve Management and Associate schedules to ensure proper staffing levels for expected sale volumes, while taking team member availability, payroll, and overtime costs into consideration.
  • Staffing: Own staffing in store by providing timely feedback on interviews to the recruiting team.
  • Hiring: Engage in the hiring of all store associates; develops managers to understand RaceTrac hiring processes and participate in hiring decisions.
  • Performance Management: Write, implement, and monitor manager development and performance plans.
  • Policies and Procedures: Ensure proper procedures are followed in regards to hiring, promotions, and separations.
  • Team Member Qualifications: Ensure that all team members follow policies and company standards at all times.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Ensure that all team members have correct valid licenses as required by state or local laws.
  • Budget and Cost Trends: Have complete understanding of budget and cost trends that impact operations; proactively work to drive sales and overall financial health of the store.
