  • Conduct comprehensive interviews to gather essential financial information, assessing clients' financial services, objectives, and their capacity to achieve these goals.
  • Analyze and evaluate the creditworthiness of both existing and prospective loan clients, continuously reviewing the performance of current loans.
  • Negotiate and establish terms for credit extensions, including costs, repayment methods, schedules, and collateral requirements.
  • Manage a loan portfolio, ensuring timely renewals and compliance with lending policies.
  • Present and advocate for loan requests that exceed established lending limits to the appropriate committees.
  • Oversee the preparation of loan documentation and facilitate the closing process.
  • Monitor the quality of the loan portfolio through repayment patterns, deposit activities, and financial assessments, taking action on overdue accounts as necessary.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development regarding loan types, regulatory updates, and financial products.
Qualifications for the Commercial Lender:
  • A relevant Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience or training in the financial sector.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze business publications, trade journals, technical procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Proficient in drafting clear reports, professional correspondence, and detailed procedural documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Competence in basic mathematical operations and the ability to apply these skills to financial analysis.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a proven ability to cross-sell financial products.
  • Effective communication skills complemented by a positive attitude.
Essential Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • This role requires prolonged periods of sitting, as well as the ability to use hands and arms for various tasks. Regular walking is also necessary, along with occasional standing, reaching, climbing, and balancing. The position may require lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
