Nurse Manager Job Description

The Nurse Manager is a key leadership role at Hackensack Meridian Health, responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing care. This position requires a strong leader who can manage day-to-day operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and promote a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans and goals, ensuring alignment with organizational initiatives.
  • Manage unit operations, including emergency response planning and budgeting.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and manage budgets, prioritizing financial objectives and resource allocation.
  • Lead and mentor team members, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Supervise educational programs and evidence-based practice initiatives, ensuring participation and data collection.
  • Support the Magnet Program Director and Magnet program, promoting a shared governance model and data-driven decision making.
  • Prioritize organizational goals, incorporating them into standard work and leading committee work with clear performance improvement goals.
  • Review and address complaints or opportunities for improvement, ensuring timely follow-up and service recovery efforts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, and demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and patient focus.
